In case you’re not glued to my Facebook page, you might have missed that I’m having quite an emotional weekend.
Namely, my mystery thriller The Pope’s Suicide had a promotional push yesterday. So I want to drop a quick note of heartfelt gratitude to all of you who spread the word about it. It really means a lot to me. And it worked, too!
Aside from being #1 in a gaggle of categories (OMG I surpassed John Grisham!), The Pope’s Suicide peaked at #18 on Amazon US, #3 in Canada, and very high in the top 100 in the UK and Australia (I saw #23 but don’t know if it was the peak).
Being a writer is often a lonely business of highs and lows. I’m touched that you all helped to make it a very formidable high 🙂
If you don’t have your copy of The Pope’s Suicide yet, I’m keeping it at $0.99 through the weekend. CLICK HERE
And there’s more!
If it’s raining this weekend like it is here, you may need another book. See? I think of everything! That’s why The President Killed His Wife is also available for less than a dollar for the next few days. CLICK HERE
The day has arrived.
The third Rogan Bricks thriller “Murder Island” is now available to download and read.
The people behind the scenes who have managed to read the book are telling me this is the best and most fun Rogan adventure yet. It’s pretty much Die Hard on a tropical island with heart-pumping, crowd-pleasing action from cover to cover.
If you don’t already have your copy, CLICK HERE NOW.
But that’s not all that’s going on right now.
I’m very excited to be part of a wonderful event to celebrate the release of Christopher Nolan’s summer blockbuster movie Dunkirk. As such, more than 40 authors of WWII fiction have banded together to storm the literary beaches. I apologize for that metaphor. It was terrible 😛
What does that have to do with me? My own World War II action thriller “The Atomic Eagle” is only $0.99 until July 27.
Allied commandos, Nazi spies, assaults behind enemy lines, and shocking twists – it’s all in this novel! Here are the links:
Barnes & Noble Nook
And remember when I said this event features over 40 authors? That means you can find more than 50 amazing discounted WWII novels.
Don’t wait because this is happening this week and this week only. Visit this page now: http://alexakang.com/dunkirk-book-sale/
I have two very important announcements today.
First, as you’re probably aware by now, my novel “I’ll Kill Her for You” had a facelift and is now titled “Park Avenue Blackmail“. It’s the same story as before but with a spiffy new cover, so I decided to pull out my promo-fu skills.
If you don’t have this mystery thriller already featuring an irresponsible billionaire racing against time to find out who framed him, now is the time. The book is available for less than a dollar until June 23, only on Amazon US and UK.

The second announcement is that the third Rogan Bricks adventure, Murder Island, is still available for pre-order.
Don’t miss your chance to get this exciting novel at a low price. Imagine the classic movie Die Hard on a small Caribbean island… but with twists and secrets!

Are you sitting down? I think you should because I’m announcing the release of the third Rogan Bricks adventure, Murder Island.
It’s basically Die Hard on a small Caribbean island… with SECRETS!
It will be available July 20 but you can pre-order it right now so that it lands on your Kindle the very second it’s published. And if you do it now, it’s only $0.99.
You might be interested in some of what’s been going on with some of my books and their snazzy new covers, which I discussed in this blog post.
Lots of exciting stuff coming this summer. Fans have been demanding more Rogan Bricks novels since the very start. Stay tuned to see what happens next…
Because our time is limited, there are barbecues to be had and Powerball lotteries to be won, I won’t rehash what I already blogged about. However, I still wanted to bring you up to date with some of the things I’ve been doing.
First of all, “The President Killed His Wife,” which has a new old school cover, is now available EVERYWHERE. If you shop on iBooks, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or anywhere else where awesome books are sold, I got you covered. Check it out by clicking here.
Also, my psychological thriller “I’ll Kill Her for You” became “Park Avenue Blackmail“. New cover, new title, and this slick menacing vibe I thought was missing. Don’t have it? Click here now!
In the same vein, one of the first books I published was “The Gilded Treachery”. I love that book, okay? I can’t help it and our love simply won’t be denied! Action, adventure, mystery, basically Jason Bourne in 1868.
But you know what? I was never satisfied with the cover. It was lacking oomph. So I gave it oomph, lots of it. I think I really nailed it this time. It’s also my longest and most intricate mystery. Give it a try by clicking here 🙂

Stay tuned because my next blog post will blow your mind…
First things first, a third Rogan Bricks novel is on the way. I’m remaining tightlipped about the title, cover, and story for now. I will only say that it’s about a guy and stuff happens.
You want more details? People die. And then MORE stuff happens. Satisfied? Intrigued? Good. I’ll keep you posted, I promise 😉
And now for the reason we’re all here, aside from the muffins…
You see this cover below? It’s not a new book. It’s a new cover and title for “I’ll Kill Her for You“.
I was never satisfied with it. It started out being called “Park Avenue Blackmail” but I chickened out before releasing it, thinking that “I’ll Kill Her for You” would make me rich and famous. It didn’t. Shocker, right?
So here is the new version. Rest assured that nothing else has changed about the book. If you already have your copy, don’t get it.
If you really, really need it, GO HERE
We shall speak again soon!
My new thriller “First Thrill” has been released into the wild!
What is it about? A secret agent on his first mission teams up with a beautiful reporter after stumbling upon a conspiracy involving South American rebels, a stolen military prototype, and a ruthless Canadian spy.
It’s a big book and something happens on every page. Action, discovery, wisecracks, more action. This is definitely not a hurry up and wait kind of novel, let me tell you.
As I mentioned in my other message several weeks back, this is something I wrote in 2001. I reworked it, polishing it to a fine sheen. It’s a little different since it takes place in before 9/11 and the main character is a young Canadian intelligence officer on his first mission. I thought this was rather neat because there isn’t a lot out there like this.
Still less than a dollar and available on Amazon Kindle and paperback. Click/tap here now!
There are things I always wanted to check off my bucket list. Bungee jumping off Kilimanjaro, running of the bulls in Spain, playing water polo at the base of Niagara Falls, surrounded by hungry piranhas. You know, the usual. But there is one other item that always eluded me. Until now.
The book preorder.
But I’ve done it. I conquered the mighty beast! That’s right, my new novel “First Thrill” is up for preorder. That means that you can follow this link at the bottom, get the novel today, and on April 13 it will be delivered to your favorite Kindle reading device.
This thriller is something I wrote some years back. It kind of faded from my memory until I dusted it off recently and chiseled it into shape again. It’s a little different since it takes place in 2001 and the main character is a young Canadian intelligence officer on his first mission. I thought this was rather neat because there isn’t a lot out there like this.
But what you get with “First Thrill” is the same fast-paced action and adventure you find in my other novels. It has wisecracks, suspense, and international intrigue.
If you hit the preorder button now, it’s $0.99. CLICK HERE before it’s too late.
I wanted to reach out to you, first of all, to say thank you for your support and the nice reviews, as well as fan mail, about my latest novel. This is one of the greatest rewards in this business.
Second of all, if you don’t have your copy of The Pope’s Suicide, my exciting new mystery thriller, you can get it this week, until February 10 for less than a dollar.
Happy New Year, everyone!
And how do we start the new year in my neck of the woods? By releasing a new mystery thriller, of course! It’s how my people have done it for the last 7,000 years, family tradition.
“The Pope’s Suicide” might be my most complex novel yet. I mean, WHO WOULDN’T enjoy a gruff NYPD detective with a family falling apart, a gorgeous former nun now NYPD officer, a teenage girl taking a walk on the wild side, an idealistic Irish priest learning how the Vatican really works…
Oh, and did I mention that it starts with the Pope being found dead from suicide?!?
Suspects pile up, clues everywhere, international politics getting in the way, assassins show up to take care of business, it’s that kind of book, people.
Mystery, twists, surprises, family ties, moral ambiguity, it’s all there for your reading pleasure. The book is available now half its regular price. Get it today and please consider leaving a review if you enjoyed it 🙂
The Pope’s Suicide
The Pope is dead. It isn’t old age or a disease. He is found hanging in a bathroom while on an official visit to New York City.
All signs point to a suicide and NYPD detective Donnie Beecher is put in charge of the investigation. It’s the last assignment he wants. Because of his tragic past, he has no love for the Catholic Church. His marriage is falling apart, his teenage daughter is getting mixed up with the bad crowd.
But soon clues start piling up. What if the Pope was assassinated?
In Vatican City, young and idealistic Father O’Dwyer is beginning to wonder the same thing. Why are the cardinals around him so secretive? Why do they keep whispering about the mysterious San Marino letter?
With his superiors breathing down his neck for a swift resolution, Beecher teams up with Officer Emma Aldridge, a former nun. Failure means not just an end to his career but a shift of power in international relations which could lead to war. Together, they will need to find out what really happened to the Pope.
…and try not to get killed in the process.
